About Protego
Protego was founded in 1996, focusing on obtaining financial resources in mexican and international markets for companies and entities with high growth potential.
Protego is the leader advisor in private equity transactions in Mexico.
In 2004, Protego launched Discovery Americas I, a private equity fund.
In March 2005, Protego Casa de Bolsa – an asset management company – began operations.
In November 2005, Protego Asesores was awarded “Investment Bank of the Year – Mexico “ by Latin Finance.
In August 2006, Protego combined it´s business with that of Evercore Partners, the leading investment banking boutique in merger and acquisition transactions in the U.S.A. with which we share a common set of values. The combined company is listed on the New York exchange under the ticker “EVR”. Together, we provide strategic advisory services to prominent multinational corporations on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and significant transactions.
In 2008, Protego created its second private equity fund, Evercore Mexico Capital Partners II.
In 2009, for the second time, Protego Asesores received the award “ Best Boutique Investment Bank in Mexico “ awarded by Latin Finance.
